What this checker looks at
A broken affiliate link does not announce itself. It looks completely normal, opens the right product, and simply never pays. These are the failure modes worth catching before a link reaches an audience:

| Country suffix matches | A -21 tag on amazon.com records the click and pays nothing. Each marketplace needs its own ID. |
ascsubtag is clean | Spaces and special characters get truncated, so the Sub Tag column arrives empty or wrong. |
| Domain is really Amazon | An Associates tag earns only on Amazon storefronts. Pasted links sometimes point somewhere else entirely. |
| Leftover tracking junk | Amazon's own ref and pf_rd_* breadcrumbs bloat a link without adding value. |
What a checker cannot tell you
This tool reads the URL. It has no access to your Associates account, so there are limits worth being clear about:
- –Whether the tag is yours, or active. A well-formed tag from a closed account looks identical to a working one. Only Associates Central knows.
- –What happens after a redirect. Shortened links hide their destination. Open the link, let it settle, then paste the final address from the browser bar.
- –Whether clicks are recording. That is a reporting question. Associates reports lag by a few hours, so an empty report shortly after a click means nothing.

Why does my link record clicks but no earnings?
The usual cause is a country mismatch — a tag issued for one marketplace used on another. Amazon still counts the click but pays nothing. The other common explanation is simply the 24-hour cookie window expiring before the visitor buys.
Can I check a shortened amzn.to link?
Not directly. The checker runs in your browser and cannot follow a redirect to another domain without sending your link to a server, which would defeat the privacy of the tool. Open the short link yourself, wait for it to land, then paste the final URL from the address bar.
Is my link sent anywhere?
No. The entire check is JavaScript running in this page — the URL you paste is parsed locally and never transmitted, logged or stored.
