What is affExtParam1?
affExtParam1 is Flipkart's sub-ID parameter — a free-text label you attach to an affiliate link so that clicks and orders can be grouped in your Flipkart Affiliate reports. It does not affect your commission or who gets credited; that is entirely the job of affid. What it changes is whether your report says "482 orders" or "310 from the Telegram channel, 172 from the website."
Flipkart exposes two of these slots, affExtParam1 and affExtParam2, and both surface as separate columns in the affiliate dashboard's order and click reports. The usual convention is to use the first for the channel and the second for the specific post or creative.

If you saw affExtParam1 in someone else's link and wondered what it does — that is all it is. It is a label, not a tracker: it stores nothing on the visitor's device beyond Flipkart's normal affiliate cookie, and it carries no personal data unless you put some there. Don't.

How to check a Flipkart affiliate link is tracking
A link that looks right and a link that pays are not always the same thing. Four checks, in the order worth doing them:
- 1Read the query string. Your
affidmust be present and spelled exactly as it appears in your dashboard. A single wrong character is a silent, unpaid click. - 2Follow the redirect. Open the link and confirm you land on the product page with
affidstill in the address bar. If a shortener or a redirect chain drops it, the commission goes with it. - 3Wait for the click to register. Flipkart's dashboard is not real-time. Clicks typically surface within a few hours; do not conclude a link is broken from an empty report ten minutes later.
- 4Confirm the sub-ID column. If you set
affExtParam1, it should appear against the click. Blank means it was stripped somewhere in the chain.
Testing your own link is fine for verification, but self-purchases are not commissionable under the Flipkart Affiliate Agreement.
Common problems and what causes them

What is affExtParam1 in a Flipkart link?
It is Flipkart's optional sub-ID parameter — a free-text label you add to an affiliate URL so clicks and orders can be grouped by source in your affiliate reports. It has no effect on commission or attribution, which depend only on affid. Use it to separate, say, Telegram traffic from your blog.
What's the difference between affExtParam1 and affExtParam2?
Functionally nothing — they are two independent label slots that appear as two separate columns in your reports. The useful convention is channel in the first and post or creative in the second, so you can answer both "which platform earns?" and "which post earned?" from one report.
Can I shorten a Flipkart affiliate link?
Yes, but shorten the finished link — generate it with affid and your sub-IDs first, then pass that complete URL to a shortener. Shortening the bare product URL and appending parameters afterwards is the most common way affiliates silently lose commissions, because many shorteners discard the query string.
Where do I find my Flipkart affid?
Log in to affiliate.flipkart.com. Your tracking ID appears in the top-right of the dashboard under Account → Profile — usually a short alphanumeric string like deals2k.
Does dl=1 always open the app?
It opens the app when one is installed and the device supports universal links. On desktops or browsers without the app, the link gracefully falls back to the mobile web checkout — you don't lose those clicks.
Can I use this for Myntra, 2GUD or other Flipkart Group sites?
The Flipkart Affiliate program covers Flipkart only. Myntra has its own program (CJ / Inmar). For mixed catalogs, build separate routing pipelines in the Bulk Converter so each domain gets its correct partner ID.
What's the cookie / attribution window?
Flipkart's standard last-click cookie window is 24 hours on web and tracks app sessions for the same day. Re-share your link if a buyer hesitates — later clicks reset the attribution clock to you.
Is data sent to a server?
Never. URL building runs entirely in your browser. Your affid is cached in localStorage on this device for convenience and is never transmitted.
